Welcome! I’m Ray Green and I’m an artist and writer, inspired by wild places. I live in Kendal, Cumbria, on the edge of the Lake District, but my journeys take me all over Britain, Europe and Asia. I work directly from the landscape, carrying or canoeing in with my art materials all year round, sometimes risking hypothermia for my art.

My acrylic paintings are mainly of mountains, the sea or other natural landscapes. I attempt to capture the beauty and energy of these wild-places, allowing you the viewer to share my experiences, but without the cold and wet, the dangers and the midges!

My journeys also inspire me to write poems, stories and reflections about my adventures.

I love to share my passion for my experiences, so I frequently appear at story telling evenings and am available for illustrated talks to groups by arrangement. I have been known to reduce an audience to tears and laughter.
